What is CapCut?

CapCut is a free all-in-one platform for editing videos and images. Available on desktop and mobile, CapCut has a ton of AI-powered features that help remove backgrounds, add video captions, convert text to speech, resize media, and much more.

CapCut makes it easy for social media managers to find and customize viral video templates for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms.

What are trending CapCut templates and why are they important?

After making videos on CapCut, creators can turn their content into templates others can use. Some CapCut templates become a viral trend by gaining a lot of traction on TikTok and Instagram. This makes it incredibly easy for companies and creators to hop on a trend and relate it to their brand.

Following social media trends helps brands improve performance by increasing reach and engagement. And using existing templates helps your team work quickly and efficiently.

How to find trending CapCut templates

You can find trending CapCut templates on your TikTok For You page. Reels created using a CapCut template usually have a banner saying “CapCut — Try this template.” If you find any you like, save them to your feed so you can easily find them later. CapCut’s template page also has a trending section you can scroll through.

However, these methods can take a lot of time. Instead, we suggest saving this blog that’s always up-to-date with the top trending templates, so you can focus on creating great content

This week's trending short-form videos and new CapCut templates

Each week, we browse TikTok and Reels to find the latest trending videos and CapCut templates and we update this blog with our findings. Here are the top video trends and CapCut templates for this week:

1. “In my headphones, in my hands” trend

We’ve started seeing this trend all over our feeds! The idea is to show the perfect pairing: what’s in your headphones and what’s in your hands. Social media managers could have some fun with “In my headphones: trending audio. In my hands: my third coffee of the day.”

2. “Every day, once a week, once a month “ trend

This is still trending! Creators are sharing things they do every day, once a week, and once a month. It’s a simple format for sharing advice or routines. Social media managers could use it for their content workflow: checking comments every day, reviewing the content calendar once a week, and reporting on results once a month.

3. “Wait, what’s that song that goes like . . .” CapCut trending template

Got a camera roll full of adventures? This template makes it easy to turn those clips into a quick travel or photo dump. It could also work for a conference, event, team outing, or your latest brand adventure.

4. “2026 in 100 photos” free CapCut template

Okay, we know we’re nowhere near the end of the year, but this template is already making waves. Use it as a mid-year recap to highlight your favourite team moments, launches, events, milestones, or community moments from 2026 so far.

5. “No one knows what’s going on” CapCut template

Corporate life can be confusing, and this template fully embraces that. Use it to poke fun at meetings, last-minute changes, confusing feedback, or those moments when everyone is nodding along but nobody actually knows what’s happening.

6. “You’re the main attraction” trend

Founder accounts, this one’s for you! Use the trend to show photos of yourself when you were younger alongside where you are now. It’s a sweet way to tell your story, show how far you’ve come, or give your community a more personal look behind the business.

7. “You seem to be doomscrolling a lot for someone ____” trend

A playful way to call out your community. Fill in the blank with something relatable, like “You seem to be doomscrolling a lot for someone who should be working” or “someone who said they were going to bed an hour ago.” Social media managers could also try “You seem to be doomscrolling a lot for someone who said they needed content ideas.”

7. “My American Girl doll Mia woooo, I just got her” trending audio

This audio is all about showing off something you’re genuinely excited about! Creators are using it for their favourite things and passions. Higher ed accounts could use it to introduce roommates, while brands could show off a new product, office addition, or team member.

8. “September reset” trend

September means one thing: it’s time to lock back in! Creators are using this trend to reset their routines and refocus for the final stretch of the year. Brands could use it to share their fall goals, upcoming projects, or what they’re focusing on from September through December.

9. “Dolly Parton's inspiring quote” sound

This inspiring sound is being used to celebrate how far people have come. For non-profits, it’s a great opportunity to reflect on your impact – whether that’s showing how your organization has grown, the number of people you’ve supported, or the journey from a small idea to a thriving community.

10. Anything related to having a “Fall rebrand” is trending

Apparently, fall is rebrand season, and you don’t even need a specific audio to join in. Share your updated visuals, a new product, a seasonal campaign, or simply give your community a peek at what your brand is changing for the new season.

11. “A new season has begun” trending audio

Looking for a nostalgic soundtrack for your fall content? Creators are loving this one. Use it to welcome the new season, show off your fall products, share a cozy office moment, or create a simple transition from summer to fall.

Adding a recorded voiceover to CapCut videos

This can be done in a few simple steps:

  1. In CapCut, launch a “New project” and upload the video you want to edit.
  2. In CapCut’s video editor, tap “Audio” and “Record” to record your own voiceover.
  3. Finalize the video by adjusting the sound, using audio effects, and adding captions. When you’re happy with it, tap “Export” to save it to your device or TikTok.

How to crop on CapCut or change a video’s aspect ratio

Whether working with a trending CapCut template or a new creation, cropping or resizing a video or photo in CapCut is easy. To crop, upload your video or photo and click on the cropping tool. Next, you can drag the corners of the image or video to crop it manually or select an aspect ratio and have CapCut do the work.

For videos, you can also play with its scale and adjust specific frames to create fun effects that zoom in or out as it plays.

If you want to resize instead, click on the photo or video in CapCut and open the resize tool. This will allow you to select from a list of common social media image sizes or customize the size of your content by specifying height and width. To finalize, tap “Resize” or “Resize on new page” and “Export” your content.

Do CapCut templates have a watermark?

Yes, CapCut templates have a watermark by default on the free and Pro version. However, if you have the Pro version, you can easily remove the watermark when you export your video.

How to remove a CapCut template watermark

In CapCut Pro, you can remove the watermark from a CapCut template after editing your video. When you click “Export,” you’ll have the option to “Save to device with CapCut watermark” or “Save and share to TikTok without CapCut watermark.”

Choose the second option. This will save the content to your phone without a watermark and bring you to TikTok where you can also store it in your drafts.

How to blur on CapCut

You can blur a photo or video in CapCut by tapping the “Effects” section and finding the blur option. After adding the blur effect for your desired timeline, export the blurred video and reload it onto the original video in CapCut’s editor.
